Mr. and Mrs. Reed were among my favorites on my route delivering Meals on Wheels. I loved seeing Mrs. Reed sitting at the kitchen table playing Solitaire, and Mr. Reed was usually sitting in his recliner watching TV. It was fun to get Mrs. Reed to smile because it was a challenge at times, but kidding about the meal I was delivering was a good topic because she had gotten picky about food and would make funny faces and comments and finally wind up smiling.B5yj Mr. Reed was always smiling and would light up when I entered the living room. I took them goodies on special occasions and picked them up treats when I shopped. At the top of the list was chocolate, and I always got an even larger smile from Mr. Reed when I showed up with a baggie filled with Dove Chocolates. I was crushed when their names suddenly disappeared from my delivery list and the house was empty. My sincere condolences to the family.

I have fond memories of growing up with the Reed family. we live just a couple houses south on RT 528. I was probably closest with Ken and Jim. I think I spent more time with your family then my own. I remember the wood burning cook stove in the kitchen . and the warmth of the family. Also the huge garden s that were planted out back on the hill. Another memory of growing up with the Reed's was my first experience picking pears . It was so long ago but you always have those memories. One other thing Gladys married Clarence Brown she and my mother Josephine work together I think it was Chardon Rubber. It has been a long time the last time I saw Ken if memory service me was 1985for a mulit class reunion. I know this was not just about Vernon ,but he and the whole wonderful family.our prayers go out to the familyDon & Lucile Wike Stone
