Theresa Catherine Martin, (nee: Smith), age 76, of Chardon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 6, 2019. Born January 14, 1943 to Frank J. and Anna Teresa (nee: Trainor) Smith in Cleveland, Ohio. George and Theresa were high school sweethearts and married September 28, 1963 at St. Mary Magdalene in Willowick, Ohio.
She enjoyed family gatherings, birthdays and holidays, housework, raising her children and frequent trips to the casino.
She is survived by George John Martin “Butch” her husband of 57 years, children; Anthony James “Tony” of Mentor, Ohio, Therese Marie “Tracy” (Kevin) Shea of Garrettsville, Ohio and Kelly Ann (Victor) Martin-Puleo of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Grandchildren, Erin Shea, Petty Officer Third Class Angelo Martin and Sean Shea; Brother, Edward V. Smith of Chardon, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Ann Smith; brothers, Francis Joseph Smith, SM and James Patrick Smith.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
