Terri L Apthorp

August 28, 1959 - October 4, 2018

On Thursday, October 4th, 2018, Terri L. Apthorp, loving wife and mother of 3, passed away at the age of 59. Terri was born on August 28, 1959 ,to Gene and Georgie (Brasch) Stockhaus . Terri graduated from Mentor High and then attended Lakeland to pursue a career as an LPN . Terri enjoyed fishing , visiting local parks, and was deeply passionate about her furry family members. She also enjoyed having bonfires with her friends and family , and watching her grand-children swim during the summers . Survivors of Terri include her husband Scott of Chardon; children Melissa (Josh) of Madison; Danielle (Dane) of Newbury, and Lisa of Mentor; 6 grandchildren; and sibling Mike( Elaine) of Painesville. Terri was preceded in death by her parents ; and siblings Debbie (McKrill) and Richard Stockhaus . A celebration of life will be upcoming and announced by the family.

Dear Scott &Girls, Beautiful memories from when my girls were in preschool. And Terri’s candy hid away. And got to see her in Erie few times. Just a very caring friend. Please take care. Your in r thoughts n prayers.

Ahh, the memories...back in the day when our daughters were in elementary school together and played with "doingies". Back when Terri would invite us over to make Christmas candy or cookies (I seem to recall buckeye balls?). We still have the ornaments that Terri helped our girls to make when she invited all of the friends over for Christmas festivities. Not to mention the friendship...Terri was more than "the mother of our daughter's friend". She was my friend too. We drifted apart and back together throughout the years, but all it ever took was ten minutes of being together and we were right back where we started. :) She told me such wonderful stories this summer of the antics with her family and friends...helping to save the flying squirrels, wanting week after week to go for a haircut for Danielle's wedding (hope she doesn't mind my sharing that), her amazing "secret" news when she found out that Melissa was pregnant, her excitement when they went camping and she found out that Lisa's son WAS able to go. Her visit to see April the giraffe with her very best treasured people. Her excitement at going out with Scott to celebrate the NFL draft. In short, Terri was an amazing inspiration to all of us!!! I am honored to have known her.

I want to offer my condolences to Terri's family and friends. It is never easy when we lose a loved one. Keep in mind the fond memories you have of Terri so that they can provide comfort for you during this difficult time. Also, pray to God for comfort. Trust in him to provide the help and comfort needed. Psalm 62:8
