TERESA MARIE MAUST, Age 47 of Sausalito, CA, unexpectedly passed away at her home on May 20, 2019. Born October 19, 1971 in Richmond Hts., to George and Dora (nee: Merkosky) Maust, she was a Chardon resident until she moved to California. Teresa was an avid traveler and hiker. She enjoyed visiting the California wineries and her friends knew her as the “Coupon Queen”. Family was the most important thing in her life. She would do anything for her family. Teresa was a Registered Nurse at UCSF, Heart/Lung Division, Critical Care.
Teresa is survived by her parents, sister Pam (Brett) Crawford of Chardon Twp., nieces Candace (Nate) Remington of Chagrin Falls, Brianna Crawford of Mentor, her closest childhood friend, Angie Knight and many dear friends. She also leaves her furry companion, Benji. Teresa was preceded in death by her brother, Georgie and cousin Bradley.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. Service will follow at 7:00 PM, with the burial on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM, All Souls Cemetery, with prayers at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, before processing to the cemetery. Teresa was a neighbor of mine when I lived in Sausalito. We both worked night shifts at the same hospital, and sometimes we would carpool into work together. She often invited me out to picnics, fireworks, or concerts with friends. Or sometimes we’d just hang out at the pool. Teresa was well liked by everyone, and the most lively and outgoing person I knew. She loved her family very much ,and I had the honor of meeting her parents when Teresa brought them out to California. I have so many great memories with her, and she will never be forgotten.

The ultimate explanation from God’s word in the Bible as to why we die can be found at Genesis 3:17-19 and Romans 5:12. Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. My heart goes out with deepest sympathy to Teresa’s family. At times like this it can be hard to lose people we care about, but just know that God sees death as the enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26). He has resurrected people in the past. The Bible mentions nine instances of ones who were resurrected. One of them that can give us comfort is found at John 11:39-44. God is the creator of life Psalms 3 6:9 so he is capable of restoring life to our loved ones so please take comfort that you will see your loved one again.
