Shirley and I went to school together. Although we were not super close we were friends and I appreciated her sense of humor and her kindness to all. She took care of my mother, Martha Duncan, back in 1999 and 2000. Mom always enjoyed it when Shirley came to visit her.

To the entire Neill family, I just read Shirley's obit on FB. Sorry that we didn't know about her passing, but wanted you all to know that our prayers are with all of you. Shirley certainly fought for so long and with such grace and courage. I remember her patience and love when dealing with my Auntie Arlene. We always felt like we were so very fortunate to have such a wonderfully loving nurse taking care of her. We visited with Shirley last summer and even then she continued to smile through her difficulties. May your wonderful memories help to soften the ache in your hearts. God bless and love to you all, Connie and Keith

Nurse Shirley helped to brighten many lives. She was my mother's Care Corp nurse for many years. My mother, Margaret loved to talk to Shirley about her Hungarian heritage. I know you will be missed.

Shirley was a beautiful person on the inside as well as the outside. A woman of Grace , Strength & Elegance. We all loved her, that was a given, Gentleness and kindness poured from her. I'm so thankful I got to see Shirley in Macy's about 6 weeks ago..We picked out a birthday present for her husband. I could tell her health was failing. She still had a smile on her face and we were cracking jokes..She was soo brave ! I thank God we took the time to just talk…Rest in Peace my friend..I hope the view from up there in heaven is just as amazing as you are ! Shirley's family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Yesterday the world lost an incredible woman.

During our sixth year in school, a group of girls decided to adopt nicknames. We became Squinty, Pitter, Zelda, Aaggaammoonn, Maggy and Shirley's name was Shorty.( Sorry if I left anyone out) She was a sweet, gentle girl. We remained friends through high school. I moved to Texas in 1971 and didn't see Shirley again until I happened to be in Ohio, for a memorial to my aunt, when she and some other friends from our class surprised me with a dinner for my 60th birthday. I was hoping to see her next week at our mini reunion. She will be missed.

I will always have very fond memories of Shirley - she was a great friend all through high school and even though we have lost touch over the years I truly valued her friendship and kind nature. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers as I know how difficult this will be for you.
