Sarah Sally A. (Eagle) Evans, 69, of Chardon Township, died Nov. 6, 2009, in her home in Chardon Township surrounded by her loving family.She was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Cincinnati, and had lived in Chardon Township since 1961.Mrs. Evans was the bookkeeper for Hach Excavating in Fairport Harbor and Claridon Heating after her children were raised. She had also served as Chardon Township clerk from 1977 to 1990.Click to enlargeMrs. Evans enjoyed reading, crafts, sewing, gardening and making beautiful cakes. She also enjoyed working puzzles, board games and playing cards. She loved music, was a pianist and gave piano lessons. Mrs. Evans was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She was a devoted homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend.Survivors are her daughter, Terri (Chuck) Roddy of Atlanta, Ga.; sons: John Evans Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Jeff Evans of University Park, Md.; grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole and Rachael Roddy, John III and Vincent Evans; mother, Harriet (White) Eagle of Danville, Va.; brother, John (Nancy) Eagle of Danville, Va.; and sisters-in-law:, Joyce Eagle of Des Moines, Iowa, and Barbara (Manny) Ferro of New York.Her husband, John Evans, whom she married Jan. 29, 1961, in Columbus, passed away Dec. 3, 2005. Her father, Ralph Eagle; and brother, Charles Eagle, are also deceased.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at The Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Pastor Gerald Kalb of the Painesville United Methodist Church will officiate.
