RUTH E. BURDICK (nee: HILLEN)
Age 70 of Chardon, died at her home Wednesday night, November 13, 2018 after a courageous fight with Cancer. Born September 4, 1948 in Chardon, the daughter of Fred and Louise (Rhodes) Hillen, Ruth was a lifelong resident of Chardon.
Married in 1968, she had two children, David (Erika) Osborn II of Burton and Karen (Joe) Warner of Mentor. She married again on November 23, 1983 to Dennis Burdick. He survives her.
Ruth was an avid classic Chevrolet car buff and a member of her beloved 65 & 66 Chevy Impala Club and the Good Time Cruisers. Ruth and Dennis could be found throughout the summer in Northeast Ohio and at their winter home in Florida at local car shows. Ruth and Dennis, until recently, would winter at their home in Deland, FL. Ruth was also a friend of Doctor Bob and Bill W.
She was an employee at numerous locations including Bostwick’s Department Store, General Motors, Roto-Hoe, Kresse’s Bi-Rite, Rini-Rego Stop and Shop, Yum-Yum Tree and the Weekly Mail.
Survivors also include her grandchildren Nathan, Alison and Ethan Warner, Sister Judy (Rich) Moeller of Chesterland and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother William Hillen.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 16, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon with the service to follow at 8:00 PM. Private family burial will be in Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
