Rosemary Ann Bonacci, 72, passed away peacefully at UH Geauga Medical Center on October 19, 2021. She was born on February 19, 1949 to Frank and Angeline (nee Teras) Bonacci in Cleveland.
Rosemary graduated from St. Peter’s High School and then earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Notre Dame College in 1971. She and her family moved to Chardon Township soon after. In Chardon, Rosemary lived an idyllic life complete with horses, dogs and a pet duck, Petey. She was a woman of many interests. She loved literature, going to the theater, antique shopping and traveling to California to visit friends and to take film classes.
Rosemary found her true calling as an educator. First, at Ledgemont High School, then at Berkshire. She touched the lives of thousands of students with her knowledge of her subject matter and the way she made the material attainable to her students. She did this with her creativity, kindness, and sense of humor.
Outside of the classroom, Rosemary shared her love of the theater with the many students she directed in fall plays and spring musicals. She opened their eyes to all that the theater offered to them. She continued that love of theater more recently by following and supporting the careers of Raul Esparza and Linn Manuel Miranda.
Rosemary was an inspiration to all who knew her with her capacity to love and her positivity. “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of it for anyone else.” ~Charles Dickens.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved parents and many cherished aunts and uncles. She is survived by several dear cousins and countless, loving friends.
Services will be held at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to Classic Stage Company 136 E13th St. NY, NY 10003 or to any local school’s drama department.
