Age 86, of Chardon passed away March 11, 2020, at Heather Hill Care Communities in Munson Twp, OH. Born April 21, 1933, in Chardon to Walter C. and Edna (nee: Jirouch) Best, he had been a lifelong Chardon resident. Bob graduated from Chardon High School, Class of 1951, attended Hiram College, and served in the US Air Force from June of 1954 to June of 1956 at the end of the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he worked with his father as a Plant Engineer with the Walter C. Best Co. in Chardon. Bob helped his father at the Galloo Island, NY (Lake Huron) property, and loved boating there and out of Mentor Lagoons on Lake Erie.

Survivors include his niece Vicki (Thomas) Elesh of Huntsburg; great niece and nephew Ashley and Thomas W. Elesh; longtime companion Elizabeth “Betsy” Wanner of Chardon and her children Brian Ploe, Dawn Ploe and Tammy (Matt) Andre. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandra Davis.
