ROBERT O. SMOLIK 

Age 95, died December 13, 2021 at Thistle House in Chardon. Born March 18, 1926, in Newburgh Hts., Ohio to Andrew and Lillian (nee: Vorchak) Smolik. A World War II Veteran, proudly serving in the US Navy in the Philippine Islands. 

He was a lifelong resident of Munson Township and was fondly known as “Bob of Munson.” He retired from the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company where he was a Supervisor. He was a member of the Chesterland Baptist Church and the Ashlar Lodge #639 F & AM.  He enjoyed playing the button box, but his greatest enjoyment was his family. 

He is survived by his son, Garry T. (Pamela); grandson, Tyler Logan (Holly Ann) Graves.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Roberta (nee: Root); and his second wife, Jean (nee: McLean) and brother, Roy J. (Genevieve) Smolik. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 16 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon.  Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 17, 2020, beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, 506 S. Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
