Robert Martin “Bob” Priem
Age 78 of Middlefield, died November 21, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 14, 1940 in Painesville to Fred and Helen (nee: Bartlett) Priem, he was a lifelong area resident. Bob proudly served in the US Navy, as a member of the Construction Battalion “SeaBees”, stationed in Bermuda. He was passionate about raising and showing Quarter Horses with his children. Bob was the founder of the Perkins Pancake House in Chardon until 1981. He was an Owner/Operator dump truck driver and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a social butterfly enjoying his friends throughout Middlefield. Bob loved to travel with his fifth wheeler taking family to many states along the East Coast. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Doug (Melissa) Priem of Eastlake, David (Chrissy) Priem of Parkman and Dawn (Dave) Goodfield of Painesville, grandchildren Tyler, Nick, Caitlin and Tommy. Bob also leaves his sisters Wanda (Don) Jacobs, Marlene Thomas and Sharon (Danny) Stone and his beloved dog, Nina. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Ella Jean in 2015; his parents; and siblings Viola Milczewski and Albert “Punk” Priem.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM. The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, 44110.
