RITA MARIE JOHNSON (nee: REDMOND)
Age 59, of Concord Twp., died September 18, 2018, due to complications of an automobile accident on Labor Day, at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Born March 26, 1959 in Painesville, to Joseph and Hildegarde (nee: Janek) Redmond, she was a lifelong area resident. Rita was an RN for UH Geauga Medical Center for 28 years, then transitioned into Electronic Medical Health Records for Allscripts for the last 10 years. She traveled all over the country and abroad, implementing the system in hospitals. She enjoyed spending time with lifelong friends kayaking, cooking, gardening, baking, helping others and line dancing. Rita also enjoy traveling and giving gifts to family and friends. Her greatest joy was being a mom and loving her children.
She is survived by her children Marie (Chris) Weeder of Euclid and Keith (Kate) Johnson of Cleveland, her mother Hildegarde (nee: Janek) Redmond of Leroy Twp., siblings Joe (Betty) Redmond of Dayton, Hildie (John) DeGreen of LeRoy and William (Pam) Redmond of Dale, IN and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
VISITATION: Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be Friday, September 28, 2018 at 12 p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower, Mentor, 44060. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
