We met Nancy through the Taylors and appreciated the hours she gave to the historical society sharing her weaving and rug hooking talents. She wove a lovely white shawl for our daughter to wear over her wedding gown for her December wedding twenty five years ago. She also saved the day when a seam in one of the bride's maids dresses split and she whipped out a complete sewing kit from her purse. We will always remember her for her smile and infectious laugh. I remember Nancy well as a friend and Republican committee woman. Once we had been selected to go to Washington D.C. to a Republican convention. I decided my husband would object to two ladies going to the big city by themselves so I did not tell him. He found out from another friend while I was volunteering at the County Historical Society and he did raise many objections. Nancy did pickme up the next morning and we got to D.C. without incident, stayed in the Hilton, enjoyed the conference and had a tour of the White House. While at the White House, we met Pat Nixon and both of us chuckled later because of her "weak" handshake. Nancy was a talented lady and we spent many great times together. Nancy was a great person in my book and life. I Pastored Chardon UMC 2009- 2015, and she was a constant presence and a wonderful friendly guide to my ministry. I loved her love for the church and the congregation and her neighbors and the community. I loved her passion for the visual arts that she created and cared about. I have missed her greatly in my retirement years. I hope and pray that her family and loved ones will find both comfort and glory in her passing on to be with God and the spiritual world.
