I want to express my sympathy for the loss of “Coach”. I met Mare at St Mary’s my children attended school there. She really was an inspiration to me. We became friends when a Volleyball coach was needed for my daughters CYO team. Mare encouraged me to take on the job. I told her I wasn’t sure I could be a coach but she guided me through the process. I spent several years as a volleyball coach and was active in the Boosters club. That’s when we became good friends. I learned valuable things from Coach, far beyond how to coach Volleyball. I saw how selfless she was. She was constantly a good role model and helped instill good qualities in all the children she taught. Most of her teaching went far beyond Gym class. Thanks Coach for all you did for my children and all you did for me. We will miss you. Rest in Peace Meg Colacicco

The memories of time spent with Mare are everlasting. She represents the epitome of Delta Gamma sisterhood. She was the joy, humor, trust, dedication and support at our DG house, which continued throughout our lives. She knew how to make a person feel special, regardless of how much time had passed between visits. One of a kind, and her kindness was extraordinary. LITB Mare, and thank you for all that you've done.

Coach has left such fond memories in my children's lives, always going the extra mile to make sure no child had a bad day. I remember an assignment she gave to my daughter's class where each student had to write something nice about other students. She gathered the information and gave it to every child so when they had a bad day they could look at the kind words their classmates said about them. She was truly a kind person giving everything she had to make a positive impact on those she taught.

My sincere condolences to the Von Lindern Family. And everyone who loved Mare. We attended St. John’s International School together and although it has been a very long time since we have seen each other her spirit, sportsmanship and love of life are what I remember best about Mare. Following her on FB over the years it was obvious she was a woman of faith loved by many. Rest in peace Mare.

I am so sorry to hear about the sad news of Mares passing. I wanted to share with everyone that I worked several summers at sea world with Mare. She worked as an assistant managers in sea worlds retail department. Her best moments was when she was all light up with sea worlds night magic hats , antennas ,and glow sticks. Quite a sight to see, but unmatched by her glowing personality.

Sending my sincere condolences ? for Coach, whom was a colleague of mine at St. Mary’s school in Chardon, during my brief tenure. She impressed me as a true advocate for children who had their true interest at heart. RIP dear Coach, you will be remembered with deep love and sincere admiration.

I have not seen Mare in decades -- not since she moved from Belgium, but after meeting up again on Facebook, I am pretty sure that her smile, exuberance, openness, honesty, humor never changed. It was clear from her posts how much she loved her children at St. Mary's and the strength of her faith. We are all better for having had her in our lives. My condolences and prayers to her family.

Mare was the most wonderful friend and fellow DG sister. She made me a better person by getting me to see the upside of everything. Mare was always a good example as she volunteered for almost everything. When we went out, she always knew someone, which was truly amazing. She was so friendly, upbeat and could always make me laugh. She loved her family, St. Mary's, her students their families and her friends. Mare was a truly amazing friend and roll model to the communities she served and the families that she touched. I hope knowing what a special person she was, will ease all of our grief. She will always be in my heart!

I am so very sorry to learn of Mare’s passing. She was a wonderful person, so full of kindness and fun. We were in the Delta Gamma collegiate chapter at Kent State and while there were several years difference in our ages, we enjoyed our sisterhood by attending events and sharing experiences. Mare was also a good friend of my husband Tom, as he helped her settle in to her apartment in Kent years ago and they fixed and repaired her space over the garage at the DG house on South Lincoln St. to make it her home. Mare, I hope you are at peace in the kingdom of heaven. We are fortunate that you were a part of our lives for many years and will always cherish the wonderful memories we have of you.

Oh Coach. Where do I even begin? I have known you my entire life. You were one of my mom's best friends and you were a significant presence in my life growing up. Always laughing. Always smiling. Always a hand to help. In kindergarten you had to call mom and tell her to have me stop calling you Mare at school because other kindergarten students started calling you Mare haha. I will also always remember you and mom, sitting out back at your house in lawn chairs, looking over your backyard/garden, drinking coronitas and just laughing about everything. One of a kind Coach. Love you always.
