Age 79, of Hambden Township, went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2020. He was the son of the late Jodie Rife, Sr. and Ethel (Justice) Rife. He was born June 14, 1940 in Varney, WV.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Hall) Rife, of 62 years, his daughter, Linda (David) Chapek of Thompson, OH, son, Mark Rife of Chardon, OH, granddaughter, Amanda Rife of Chardon, OH, grandson, Jason Chapek of Solon, OH and three great-grandsons, Charlie, Collin, and Carter Chapek of Solon, OH. He is also survived by three brothers, Jodie (Joyce) Rife Jr. of Lexington, KY, Wallace Ray Rife of Varney, WV, and Dallas (Brenda) Rife of Varney, WV.

He liked working with his hands to repair things and could fix anything that was broken. He retired from General Motors after working there for 30 years.

He attended Word of Faith Church.

His greatest joy was being with his family and he especially enjoyed the walleye fishing trips the family took on Lake Erie.

He is preceded in death by his son, Clifton Lee Rife and his grandson, Jeremy Chapek.

Visitation will be held Saturday March 28, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home (116 South St. Chardon, OH 44024) with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 PM with Minister Allen Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Hambden Township Cemetery.
