Margaret “Margie” Louise Luongo

August 18, 1928 - May 24, 2012

Margaret “Margie” L. Luongo (nee: Tims), age 83 of Munson Township., died May 24, 2012 at the Corinne Dolan Alzheimer Center. Born August 18, 1928 in Acosta, PA to John and Mary (nee: Friskie) Tims, she has been a longtime area resident. Margaret married Joseph Luongo on August 21, 1948 in Acosta. She taught 8th grade math and science for Saint Gregory the Great School for 28 years.Surviving are her husband Joseph of Munson Twp.; daughter Janice Suntheimer of Cuyahoga Falls, sons John Luongo of Seattle, WA, and Jeffrey (Lucy) Luongo of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren Jeremy Suntheimer and Sarah Luongo; and two great-grandchildren Jedidiah and Sarah Margaret Suntheimer. Also survived by and lovingly remembered by brothers and sisters Elizabeth Warner, Agnes Zanoni, John Tims, Barbara Dain and Richard Tims. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, sister MaryAnn and son-in-law Kirk Suntheimer. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 25, 2012 at The Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, OH 44026. A private family burial will be held.Margie always delighted in children. They were the light of her life. She was a skilled seamstress, making her daughter’s wedding gown, upholstery covers, clothing, draperies, costumes for the theater students at the school where she taught, and more. She also loved gardening and big band music.

What kind a wonderful person Marge was. She always had a kind word for everyone and a smile on her face. She loved helping people. I can remember Marge and Joe coming all the way to DuBois for my graduation from High School in 1988. She was smiling as if I was one of her own grandchildren and I felt that she was honored to be at my graduation. I had just gotten a pair of dress pants to wear for commencement and they needed hemmed. Her love of helping people, and sewing, came through and she insitsed on hemming my pants for me on that day. Looking back on that day I am the one that should be honored, and I am, that Marge and Joe thought of me and my family as part of their family. God bless the Luongo Family for making a difference in other peoples lives and thinking that, that should be an everyday occurance. Heaven definately has an extra Angel with the passing of such a wonderful Lady.

We are so very sorry and saddend for you loss. I have such wornderful memories of Aunt Margie. Her warmth and kindness were always welcoming.I will remember her with as much love and joy as she shared with us all. We will keep you all close in our thoughts and prayers.
