Age 55, died August 12, 2018 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg, OH. Born December 26, 1962, during a blizzard in Palmerton, PA to Charles J. and Dorothy E. (nee: Shupp) Wenzel, she was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effort, PA, where her great grandfather was a founding member. In 1980, she graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville, PA, where she started for the Lady Bears in both softball and basketball. After graduation she attended East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.
In Delaware Water Gap, PA, Lori worked at Instrument Specialty (Laird Technology) for many years. As they were closing, her adventurous side took her to Ohio where she was employed by Kennametal, Inc. until her passing. She loved the outdoors, hiking, biking, bird watching and taking her beloved dogs “girls” Maxi, Heidi and Betsy (deceased) for walks. She also loved woodworking, making gifts for family and friends. A devoted Jeff Gordon fan, she loved a NASCAR races.
She is survived by her sister Jane (Allen) Foust, nephew Matthew (Stephanie) Foust, and niece Megan (Timon) Agar all of Effort, PA; aunt Sandy Shupp (nee: Sniffin) of Brodheadsville, PA; and uncle Robert (Susan) Shupp of Kunkletown, PA. She was preceded by her parents, grandparents Martin (Verna nee: Haydt) Shupp and Bruno and Etta Wenzel, uncles Gene, Glenn, Bill and Dale Shupp; and Aunt Barbara.
