We enjoyed his gentle humor and quiet intelligence. I particularly remember a vacation bible school where he photographed my husband and me in a skit. He asked me if I wanted a photograph of the skit, which was comical and I said no because I was embarrassed. "Boots" was missed dearly as is he.

So sad to learn that you will be saying final goodby to LOEL STOFAN on March 7, 2020 10:30 - 11:30 am at the Burr Funeral Home - www.burrservice.com with burial next to his beloved wife Evelyn "Boots" Stofan. in the Ridgeview Burial Park Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ashtabula County, Ohio. Loel Stofan was a member of the Lake Sumter Computer Society for many years and was our Official Photographer and presented various programs over the years. Searching for photos found only 2 small ones on our website = lscs.us - and that was because LOEL was always behind the camera instead of in front of it. My computer projects deeply involved with Genealogy - and as past President of Kinseekers.org = Leesburg Florida checked and found that Memorials have been created by someone in family which allows family links to other cemeteries/ states, etc., Website: www.findagrave.com is a wonderful tool. Since Evelyn was also buried in Ridgeview Burial Park FAG#162164248 tells her obituary as Evelyn born June 22, 1928 and was married 69 years at her death on April 28, 2016. Someone has put Memorial ID #207668012 with Loel Edgar Stoffan telling his birth as 6 Dec. 1928 and death date 2 March 2020 age 91. I further looked up Loel's Father = John Stofan Jr. 1909 - 1991 FAG#177080799 and mother =Myrtle Bertha Baker Stofan 1908-1974 FAG#177080984 who are buried in Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood,d Ashtabula Co, Ohio USA> in Sec. 17 Lot 343 GR3.. Also in Edgewood Cemetery Loel Grandparents: John Stofan Sr. B. 19 Dec. 1872 Hungary and Died 29 Aug 1944 (71) in Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co, Ohio Sec. 17 Lot 343G8. and Grandmother Mary Hornyak Stofan B. 1882 - 1954 FAG# 177084276. Sec. 17, Lot 343 GR7. It did not appear that Evelyn had a gravestone photo = and I will check on this after funeral to see if someone in family is doing this genealogy. IF not I can ask a findagrave volunteer to take photo and attach to the graves. Family is so important and I know how much LOEL Missed Evelyn after her death. I think it is important that family be remembered and creating memorials and adding pictures helps tell the story of their lives. Besides Loel's work in the Chardon Fire Dept. from 1957-1990 I know he had experiences with well known photograher = Ancel Adams = and his LOVE of photography was a wonderful hobby. Loel will be remembered as an important part of our lscs.us computer club and I know enjoyed participating with our events . Loel will be Missed!
