Lillian Francis Shieff (nee: Kunar) age 98 entered into eternal rest January 1, 2022. Lillian (More commonly known as Grandma, Gramma Lil, Nana), was born on March 5, 1923 in Cleveland, OH and passed away on 01/01/2022 in Chardon, OH.
She moved to Chardon in 1955 with her husband Bob. When her husband passed away in 1969, she remained in the home they made together, raised her sons, and proudly lived out most of her remaining days there.
Lillian belonged to St Mary’s Church in Chardon, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary for many years. The family is thankful to Mike who faithfully brought the Eucharist to her every Sunday after she became unable to attend mass.
She was a dedicated worker, employed by the Geauga Hospital for 15+ years, where she retired at the age of 65.
She loved to paint ceramics, play bingo, fish, bowl, put together puzzles, complete word searches and play cards; especially spite thy neighbor and solitaire (always with a good cup of coffee). When her eyesight failed, she lived by her motto “Don’t get Shook”, she played with larger cards, and eventually took up listening to her favorite radio station, and her beloved baseball team.
An avid Cleveland Indians fan, she knew her players and loved to watch and listen to her Tribe. She was sure she was going to see them win another pennant, but when they didn’t, she loved them no less.
She will be greatly missed by many as she leaves behind her 3 Children: Joe (Sandy) Shieff, Bob (Denise)Shieff, and Ken (Terry) Shieff; 12 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 16 Great-Great
She waited with patience, but she waits no longer…. Today she rejoins her groom, after 52 years.
She has lived a full and blessed life.
