Kristine L. Mann (nee: Trushel), age 58, surrounded by her loving family peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH following an eight-year battle with cancer. Born on June 17, 1964, she is the oldest of three daughters born to Emerson and Karen (nee: Orzen) Trushel of Chardon.
Kristine was a caring, compassionate person always willing to help in any way. She was giving and kind-hearted to everyone and especially to her beloved dogs and horses. Her love for horses began with her pony “Polly”, an 8th birthday present from Mom and Dad. With her mother’s help and guidance, she became an accomplished horsewoman and went on to win many state and national awards. Growing up on the family farm her favorite pastime was hanging out in the barn, listening to John Denver tapes. She was a lifetime member of the Ohio and American Quarter Horse Associations.
After graduating from Chardon High School in 1982 she moved to Florida where she worked for professional trainers breaking and training young Quarter Horses, preparing them for the show ring. During that time, she also worked as an Office Manager for an international produce broker in Tampa, FL. After 12 years in Florida, she returned to Ohio and continued with her horse activities, eventually teaching her young niece to ride and show in 4H and the Quarter Horse show circuit.
Kristine is survived by her parents; sisters, Stacy Demarco, Kelly (Jim) Laudato; niece, Lauren Laudato; nephews, Michael Laudato and David E. Demarco; aunts, Judy Bell (nee: Trushel) and Sheila Hughes (nee: Fenstermaker); cousins Mark and Kevin Orzen, Kim Rinalla, Kurt Bell, and Kelly Wildschutte.
