Kenneth Albert Schley left suddenly from this side of eternity for his heavenly home and the loving arms of his Savior Jesus on Friday afternoon, January 22, 2021.
Ken was 66 years old, born in Cleveland on December 9, 1954 to Arthur and Erma Schley (nee Hoover). He lived 63 of his 66 years in the family home in Montville.
Ken graduated from Ledgemont High School in 1973 and soon after served in the United States Navy. Ken was a great Patriot. He loved God, his son Stephen, and his country with all his heart.
Ken was an extremely hard worker always being exact and precise. Ken was also an accomplished musician writing and performing with his guitar. One we especially loved he called “castles.” Ken loved working in his garage, working his land and anything Volkswagen. Some other of Kens great accomplishments include restoring the family home and building a sawmill. He also over the past few years has diligently and lovingly helped his youngest sister Phyllis upgrade and bring to life her dream home in Montville.
He loved life and life loved him.
He was gentle, kind, loving and giving. His heart of compassion towards others, especially children and the elderly were unsurpassed. He loved his church family at Grace Lutheran and his strong German heritage.
Ken is preceded in death by both his parents, his infant brother and sister Joan and James, his elder sister Barbara, his brother-in-law David Welch, his sister-in-law Bonnie Schley and recently his brother-in-law Jeff Chenoweth and nephew Rick Burkett.
He is survived by so many who love him especially his only son Stephen Schley of Montville, his siblings Richard (Chris) Schley, Donald (Rachel) Schley, Gayle (Everett) Jackson, Loretta Chenoweth, Phyllis Schley and many nephews and nieces and their children. He loved them all so much. He left behind many friends and neighbors whom he loved. His all-time prayer was to see his friends come to a saving knowledge of Jesus as their Savior and Lord. He witnessed his faith to them consistently.
Rest in heavenly peace, we love you and are on our way. See you soon in Glory❤️
In Ken’s memory, please do something to help someone in need.
