John Joseph Sheehan, Jr., Attorney, age 80, of Chardon, Ohio passed away after a long illness, on Thursday September 8th, 2022. Jack was born October 17th, 1941. Father of John III “Trey” (Sara Booker) Sheehan, Michael Sheehan, Jeremy (Eileen) Sheehan. Loving grandfather to Audrey, Josie, Griffin, Patrick, Connor, Keegan, Rita, Bridget and Gretchen Sheehan, dear brother of Thomas F. Sheehan (deceased) (Patricia Melaragno) and Mary Kay (Chip) Hall.
Jack was born the oldest of three children to John J. Sheehan, Sr. and Catherine Deegan Sheehan of Lakewood, Ohio. Jack is a graduate of Saint Ignatius High School, John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Jack served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Captain. As a Transportation Officer he was assigned to the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) office at Fort Eustis VA., to defend soldiers during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge he returned from Virginia and for 43 years settled in Bratenahl, Ohio. Throughout his legal career he worked with his father John J Sheehan, Sr. and brother Thomas F. Sheehan building the Sheehan and Sheehan practice in Cleveland, Ohio until his retirement in 2019, shortly before his latest illness.
Jack engaged with everyone he met, and he met a lot of people. To the amazement of many and the frustration of those waiting for him, he could talk to literally anyone about anything. He never missed an opportunity to make a new friend. Every caregiver, nurse, and doctor have a Jack Sheehan story to tell.
