Janice L. HANES (nee: Dixon) age 73 of Geneva, a homemaker, died Jan. 6, 2013 at Geneva Village Retirement Home in Geneva. Born Nov. 8, 1939 in Cleveland to Leroy and Janet (nee: Hubbel) Dixon, she lived in Mentor prior to moving to Geneva 3 years ago. She enjoyed reading and playing with her cats; her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Janice is survived by Deborah (Arthur) Scott of Windsor Twp., Diane Shafer of Ashtabula, Janet (Steve) Balaz of Austinburg, John (Rose) Joseph of Florida, Lee Ann (Rosario Gonzalez) Joseph of Texas, Todd Joseph of Texas and Wesley Dixon of Korea; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and longtime friend Paul Castellano. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Marie Joseph; son James Dixon and grandson Michael (Laura) Scott. FUNERALMASS: 12:00pm on Thursday at St. John Vianney Church 7575 Bellflower Rd. Mentor, OH. VISITATION: Thursday 11am to 12pm at the church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Services by the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. in Chardon, OH. Donations suggested to the local humane society or pet shelter of your choice.
