Doris, Kim and Angie. We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was truly used by the Father to bring the knowledge of His word to others. I (Edie) always enjoyed seeing you two at the restaurant, such joy and love you two shared. Our prayer is that the seeds he planted in so many will blossom and prosper to bring glory to God our Father. Love you all and hope the peace that surpasses all understanding is with you at this sad time.

Dear Doris, Angie and Kim, James became my brother-in-law after his marriage to my sister Doris in 1970. She was the first one out of the 9 children in our family to get married. We were all so proud and happy for her and a James. I was really surprised at how similar James’ family was to our family. - [ ] There was 8 children in James family we had 9 children, (6 girls and 3 boys). - [ ] James father died at an early age, our father died when he was only 46 years old. - [ ] James had a very strong and deeply religious mother - [ ] Our mother was also very strong and deeply religious - [ ] James as the oldest son was looked to take the role of the father - [ ] Our brother Otis as the oldest son also took on that role - [ ] Doris like Henrietta were the true eldest of both families being the oldest of the daughters. - [ ] My brother Otis became an Elder as a Jehovah’s Witness and aided many people in the Truth of the Bible - [ ] James was a Sunday School teacher and missionary in his religion in which he aided other in Bible knowledge - [ ] James & Doris like Otis and his wife Deborah traveled extensively It’s true, as pointed out from other testimonies that James had a hard or as someone said a “mean” way of saying things. I can now appreciate why he was like that, it seems liked he carried the world on his shoulders. I know he will be missed by Doris and the girls. I’m looking forward of seeing him in the resurrection on earth in the near future. The Apostle Paul said: “I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” — Acts 24:15 God said “I will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” Revelation 21:4 “They will build houses and live in them, and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.” — Isaiah 65:21 With love and sympathy, George & Mary Jahada Poconos, PA https://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/wp20150801/resurrection-hope-for-dead/ JW.org

Jimmy and I were Chardon High School Classmates. After graduation, I only saw Jimmy at re-unions. I have lived in California for over 50 years, so I didn't see Jimmy, or any of my classmates very often. Maybe that's why my memory of him is so strong. Jimmy comes to my mind as a beautiful person. I see him smiling. I feel him welcoming me. After reading his life story and seeing the phrase, "James was a man of God …" tells me I saw the real Jimmy Aikens. He has left us now, but he left us showing how we should treat one another - even those we may see only a few times in a lifetime. Thank you Jimmy. – Tom Adams

I found Mr Aikens to be a Man of many facets who offered a lot to all who were privileged to know him! He appeared both polished and witty as he exercised his opportunities to engage in conversations and I learned over a short time that he could add value and insight to any discussion. Mr. Aikens: A Gem that will be missed by many! Sincere Condolences to The Family & Friends. ~DJ ~
