Mr. Brown was a four year Veteran of US Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam from 1966 until 1968, Honorably Discharged as a Sergeant. He served as a Commissioner of the Geauga County Veteran’s Commission since January 31, 1981. Jim was a Lineman for the former Ohio Bell from 1969 until his retirement in 2000. He is survived by his wife Lenore (nee: Kapis) of Chardon, whom he married September 9, 1966, his daughter Victoria (Douglas) Brown Seredich of Chardon, and son James H. (Rebecca) Brown II also of Chardon, grandchildren Jacob and Sidnee Seredich and James H. Brown III and Erin Brown along with his sisters Holly Kreuger and Tammy Velotta. His parents Chester and Alvina (Nee: Ledwith) Brown are deceased.Family and friends may join in the gathering on Thursday, 6-8 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be Friday, 1:00 PM at the Chardon Municipal Cemetery, Park Ave., Chardon.
