Irene Riffett age 82 of Claridon Twp. passed away April 8, 2016 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born June 30, 1933 in Harts, WV to Dennie and Ruby (nee: Adkins) Williams, she had been a longtime area resident. Irene enjoyed cooking and baking, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children; Norman (Pam) Riffett, Jr. of Claridon Twp, Gwendolyn Watts of Detroit, MI, Ollie (Arthur) Watts of Harts, WVa, Dennie (Mary Ann) Riffett of Brenhan, TX, Harold Riffett of Claridon Twp., Sandy Fisher of Chardon Twp. and Donna (Don) Slife of Chardon Twp.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Shirley Johnson of Chapmansville, WV and Barb (Barney) Durkin of Carroll, OH and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman Riffett Sr, daughter Alice Brumfield and siblings: Bill, Jack, Wetzel, Donal and Rush Williams and Maxine Gartin. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Chardon Christian Fellowship Church 401 South Hambden Street, Chardon, OH 44024 with burial to follow at E. Claridon Cemetery. Donations suggested to the church in Irene’s name.
