Helen (Kuchta) Kellogg, 92, of Claridon Township, a homemaker, passed away Oct. 19, 2012, at Briar Hill Health Care. She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Chisholm, Minn. Mrs. Kellogg worked at Johnson Rubber Company in Middlefield for 12 years. She married Raymond E. Kellogg Dec. 26, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a greeter at the Claridon Township Election Polling and First Congregational Church of Claridon Annual Harvest Dinner and Bazaar greeting everyone with a hug and a warm smile. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Clover Chapter 201 and the choir for First Congregational Church of Claridon. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her labor of love over many years was baking hundreds of cakes for special occasions. Survivors are her husband, Raymond E. Kellogg of Claridon Township; sons, Ronald (Debbie) Kellogg and James (Barb)Kellogg; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Millicent McClelland, Nellie Millhof, Eva Pechota, Julie Burton and Ann Youshak. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Sophia (Sukovach) Kuchta; son, David Kellogg; daughter, Marlene Kellogg; sister, Mary Ruzicka; and brothers, Steve, Mike and John Kuchta. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at First Congregational Church of Claridon, 13942 Mayfield Road, Claridon Township. Pastor Mary Ellen Hoffman will officiate. A gathering of friends and family will be held after the service in the church basement. Burial will be in Claridon Center Cemetery in Claridon Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Congregational Church of Claridon. Arrangements are being handled by The Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Chardon.
