WE HAD HEARD A LOT ABOUT HELEN FROM OUR DEAR FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR, MARGRET, HELEN'S DAUGHTER. WHEN I FINALLY MET HELEN DURING A VISIT TO SEE MARGRET, TOM, TOMMY AND JESSICA, WE FOUND THIS VIBRANT AND CHEERFUL PETITE WOMAN, READY TO SHARE SO MUCH OF HER HISTORY. AS TIME WENT ON, MARGRET, NANCY(A FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR) AND I DROVE DOWN TO CLEVELAND TO BREAK UP HOUSEKEEPING ON FLEET AVE. FOR HELEN.WE SPENT DAYS IN THE HOUSE AND AT A NEARBY HOTEL. DURING THOSE DAYS WE LAUGHED AND CRIED AT THE MANY, MANY STORIES THAT MEMORABILIA WOULD BRING TO HELEN'S MIND. THE THREE FRIENDS WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THOSE SWEET AND PRECIOUS DAYS. THE FOLLOWING APRIL, I GOT AN EARLY CALL, AND WHEN I ANSWERED, IT WAS HELEN ON THE OTHER LINE SINGING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. THOUGHTS OF HELEN WILL ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO ME.

Our sympathy to the entire Kuta family on the loss of your matriarch. Helen was a wonderful, strong, courageous and fun woman who lived a long and fulfilled life. I knew her in her later years -- and from what I could tell -- there was nothing more important to her than her family, her religion and her heritage, in that order. They don't make them like Helen anymore -- I only wish I could remember all the wonderful polish sayings she taught me. May she rest in peace. Nancy Bromann and family
