Hazel Elizabeth (nee: Rinker) Morris, age 86, passed away July 11, 2021 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born July 21, 1934 to Charles and Mattie E. (nee: Keller) Rinker in Cumberland, MD. Hazel married Charles Roger Morris, Sr. on November 30, 1953 in Beaufort, S.C., he preceded her in death on June 1, 1989.
After moving to Ohio, she worked at the Mentor Drive-In, she was a cook at many area restaurants retiring from JCPenney Co. After retirement she spent her time with her close knit friends, Mary Jane Gallagher, Edna Naumann and her best friend John Reid.
Hazel loved hummingbirds, flowers and playing bingo at Mapleview.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Sally) Morris of Harrison, AR, Theodore Morris of Willoughby Hills, OH, Marilyn (Thomas) Satterfield of Mentor, OH, Thomas (Mary) Morris of Hartsgrove, OH; daughter in law (ex) Susan (Herb) Buettner of Pierpont, OH; brother, Charles (Carol) Rinker of AR; sister, Linda (Dennis) Jarvis of Mineral City, OH; Grandchildren, Michael (Courtney) Morris of Norfolk, VA, Shannon (Byron) Cothran of Everton, AR, Melissa Callahan of Boise, ID, Michelle (Kyle Spehar) Burnett of Mantua, OH, Jennifer (Michael Anderson) Satterfield of Mentor, OH; great grandchildren, Harper, Keira, Kylee, Khloe, Jacob and Joshua, and several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, step father Paul Horst, husband, sisters, Bonnie Rinker, Jean Hawkins and daughter in law, Teresa Morris.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, OH 44024. Interment will follow at Montville Township Cemetery, State Route 528, Montville, OH.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mapleview Country Villa for their dedication, love and support. A special thanks to her favorite nurses and staff, Kelsey, Maria and DeeDee. We also would like to thank the nurses and staff of UH Geauga Medical Center, 1 West Orthopedic Wing for their incredible care.
