HARVE FOSTER “SKEET” LYON, Age 78, of Chardon, died unexpectedly at his home, September 25, 2018. Born January 3, 1940 in E. Cleveland to Harve A. and Gertrude (nee: Kashubeck) Lyon, he was a lifelong area resident. Skeet was a 1958 graduate of Burton High School. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending many days and weeks hunting and fishing with in-laws and friends. He and his late wife, Kaye, traveled around 44 states and Canada. He was a member of Village Lodge #274, F&AM. Skeet served as a Deputy for the Geauga County Sheriff’s Department, he worked for the Burr Funeral Home and family for 25 years, retiring in 1987. He was also co-owner of The Geauga Ambulance Service until it’s sale in 1983. In 1987, Skeet went to work for Universal Disposal until his final retirement in 2005.
Beloved husband and father, survivors include his daughters, Beth (Jay) Brindo, Becky Feigle (Mark Haas), and Bonnie (Bill) Clemson, all of Chardon, and son, Kurt (Lisa) Feigle of Chester Twp., OH; grandchildren, Sally (Terry) Finger, Jay Jr., Micah, and Krista Brindo, K. Paul Feigle and Courtney (Nicholas) Szabo, Jessie and Abraham Haas, Brianne (Ken) Fawcett, and William L. Clemson; 7 Great-grandchildren; his “sister” Carol Dayton. Skeet also leaves his faithful canine companion, “Max”. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 50 years, Kaye (nee: Willman).
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
