Gertrude “Elsie” (nee: Dieska) Adams, age 101 of Chardon died July 3 at the Residence of Chardon. Born Jan 19, 1911 in Lakewood, OH to Stephen and Lucy (nee: Apathy) Dieska, she was a lifelong Geauga County resident. Elsie was a longtime member of the Church of St. Mary in Chardon and a graduate of Andrews Institute for Girls. She worked as a legal secretary, retiring when she turned 85. She is survived by sister Matilda Young of Chardon; son Thomas (Anne) Adams of California; daughter-in-law Patricia Adams of Chardon; grandchildren Bonnie Robbins, Robert Adams, Kathryn Quinn, Elke Houser, Vincent Adams, Matthew Adams, Sabine Hall and Bettina Hart; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cayle W. Adams, brother Bernard Dieska, sister Eleanore Dieska, son Richard Cayle Adams and grandson Richard Cayle Adams Jr. FUNERALMASS: 11:30 am Monday at the Church of St. Mary 401 North Street Chardon, OH.
