Gerald Ray Cox, age 87, of Chardon, Ohio, died peacefully at his home on September 20, 2019. Born December 21, 1931 in Covegap, W.V. to Lucian William and Marie (nee: Spaulding) Cox. He married Rosalie Ann Leetch on March 15, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio and celebrated 67 years together.
He is survived by his wife, children; Barb (John) Neely, Georgia (Wayne) Luoma, Jesse (Sandi) Cox and Adam (Maria) Cox; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was known for his sayings, like “If man made it, Man can fix it”. and “You can’t beat me with your mouth”.
Jerry was a retired G.M. Mechanic. He was an avid water skier and motorcyclist. He loved to go fast. If family or friends needed help, he was there. If you knew Jerry, then you knew his very distinctive laugh! He loved to siesta in the sun. His dog Rivers was his faithful companion on his golf cart.
He learned the truth about his creator and dedicated his life to serve Jehovah God, around 1975. He never waived from his decision. He had many friends at the Chardon Kingdom Hall. We all remember his famous “mint” handshakes. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Chardon Kingdom Hall, 110 Woodiebrook Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
