GEORGIANN “Georgie” MORRIS FARINACCI ALEXANDER

Age 87 of Hambden Twp., died April 27, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 27, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, OH to George and Edith (nee: Stricker) Morris, she has been a Hambden Twp. resident for 70 years. Georgie enjoyed most world travel, golfing, skiing, gardening, cooking, staying active and playing Bridge. She was the President of the former Farinacci Brothers Lumber Company, following the death of her husband, Don “Sonny” Jr.

She is survived by her children Don (Donna) Farinacci, III of Valley City; Rex Farinacci of Mentor and Ann (Tim) Litts of Hambden Twp. Stepchildren Brad (Liz) Alexander of Valley City; David (Bonnie) Alexander of Rocky River; Juli Alexander of Monterey, CA. Georgie also leaves 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Don “Sonny” Farinacci, Jr. in 1980 and second husband, Dr. Robert “Doc” Alexander, DVM in 2018, daughter Lyn Cortez, stepson Chris Alexander and step grandson, Kent Alexander. She was also preceded by her siblings Rose Foss, Rex Morris and Marylou Wininger.

Private family burial will be held at Moundview Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, to be reunited with Sonny and their daughter, Lyn.

The family suggests donations to The Maplewood at Chardon, Senior Living, 12350 Bass Lake Road, 44024.

I had the privilege of knowing Georgie as a CASA volunteer with CASA for KIDS of Geauga County (Court Appointed Special Advocates). I was an employee of the court for 18 years and supported Georgie in her volunteer role. She was so kind, caring, warm, and a great advocate for the children. We had many wonderful conversations - I have thought of her fondly through the years. I am sure she will be missed but left her mark and many great memories behind.

We want to extend our respects and sympathy to your family. I have a lot of good memories of your mother. She was always a positive person and someone to admire in many ways. Sad to hear of her passing. Our community is better because of her life here. Dave and Terri

Ann, Tim, Rex, and Don: what an amazing woman Georgie was and what a full life she lived! I won’t soon forget her. She was so genuine and warm and kind, and when she welcomed me into your home each day after high school she’d make a point to greet me with ‘how ya doing, Sowa’ (she was the only person to pronounce my name like that which made me smile) and she truly seemed interested in my wellbeing. She was so interesting and fun! Georgie introduced me to romance novels, my first taste of wine (Riunite/Lambrusco), and her infamous spaghetti with Italian sausage...so many fond memories of days gone by hanging with Ann at the house with Georgie in the kitchen or out back tending her flowers. She was always beautifully dressed and she gave meaning to the word classy! I had not seen her in recent years but I’ve carried those memories of her and always will. While the loss is great, there is comfort in knowing she is with Sonny and Doc and Lyn, either cooking up a big pot of pasta for God and family or hitting a round on the front nine!
