Eva Marie Burgess (nee Blaine)
Age 66, beloved mother, sister, and mamaw tragically passed away on October 21st, 2022.
Eva was born in Chardon, Ohio on March 14th, 1956. She grew up in Chardon where she attended Munson Elementary, Chardon Middle, and Chardon High School. During her life she spent time living in California and West Virginia, but Chardon, Ohio was where she called home.
She graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Dental-Medical Assistants in 2010 with a certificate in Medical Assisting.
Eva loved animals and treasured her time working for the Geauga Humane Society. She also worked in numerous nursing homes, including Chardon Health Care, and as a Medical Assistant for Doctor Steven Takacs.
She spent her days praising the Lord in bible study, spending time with family and friends, and taking care of her two wonderful grandchildren. She had a heart for service and volunteered wherever she could, including Meals on Wheels.
Eva was a wanderer. When she was younger, she loved traveling cross country. Her last months were spent in Mentor, Ohio where she was living with her son and daughter-in-law.
Survivors are her son, Scott (Shelby) Burgess; daughter, Rachel Burgess; grandchildren, Jaylen and Jayla Harper; brother, Lee (Audrey) Blaine; sister, Wilda Kosik; and chihuahua, Samson. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Blaine, and her mother Grace O. Mathews (nee Parsons).
Loved ones will be received Saturday October 29th starting at 10 AM at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St, Chardon, OH 44024. Funeral Service starts at Noon at Burr Funeral Home, followed by burial at the Hambden Township Cemetery. Distant friends and family may join the service virtually from the link on Eva’s obituary on the Burr Funeral Home website.
