Ellen Jane Haines, Age 88, of Chardon Twp., died peacefully on September 26, 2022 surrounded by family. Born June 17, 1934 to Miner and Helen (nee: Tennant) Tennant in Core, WV and she’s been a Chardon Twp. resident since 1970. Ellen was a homemaker and enjoyed farming with her late husband at their home, raising chickens, selling eggs and vegetables off their porch. She loved to sew, crochet and quilt in her free time.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Ada) Haines of Munson Twp., daughters Linda (Danny) Brown of E. Claridon, Nancy (David) Seigel and Doris (Steve) Kraft of AZ, grandchildren Willie (Mindy) Haines, Brian (Krystal) Haines, Jennifer (Chris) Vidmar, Devon Brown, Mark Brown, Elizabeth, Eli Seigel, Michael (Danielle) Kraft and Jon (Amy) Kraft. She also leaves great grandchildren Bradley, Tanner and Xander, Noah and Aubrey, Kaity and Scarlett, Jessica and Ben and brother Mahlon (Marge) and sister Leora (Delbert) Corder. Ellen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willis, and sister Shirley (James) Tuttle.
The family receive friends on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10:00 – 12:00 AM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, funeral service Friday, September 30, 2022 at 12:00 PM followed by the burial at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland.
