Dorthine M. (nee: Dorn) Haueter, age 84, of Chardon, Ohio, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2021, at her home while holding her daughters hand. Dorthine was born November 3, 1936 to Arthur and Dorothy (nee: Miller) Dorn. She was a Admitting Clerk for Geauga Hospital for over 30 years.

Dorthine was a lifelong area resident. She was a member the Chardon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and baking award winning pies. Most of all, Dorthine loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her daughter, Heidi (Douglas) Mason; brother, Glenn Dorn of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Morgan and Stone Mason.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Haueter; son, Robin Haueter and brother, Allen Dorn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024.

I was saddened to hear that Dorthine passed away. She was a generous and giving person. I got the opportunity to spend time with her through UMW at church. One time we took a road trip to JoAnne Fabric in North Canton to find fabric for the bell tables. We laughed the entire trip. My condolences to her family. Dorthine will be missed.

Dorthine and family, I am praising God for your life of serving so many. You used your gifts of caring and sharing as you gave so much joy from the labor of your hands. As a volunteer we were blessed with your SMILE each day, as an Auxiliary member you arose to the need of sewing masks so others would be safe last year and the beginning of this year. To Heidi and her family. She was a wonderful and dear friend to me. Will always remember the wonderful times we had together. I will miss her but remember she is with our Lord and in a beautiful place. Heaven just received a beautiful Angel. Love you Dorthine & thank you for all the memories.
