Doris Elaine Wince (nee: Bottle) died peacefully at Holly Hill Care Center on August 7, 2019. Doris was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 27, 1923. She graduated from nurse’s training at St. Luke’s hospital in 1945, and obtained her R.N. license in October, 1945. Doris married Walter E. Wince in January, 1946, and they lived in Euclid for many years raising their two daughters, Mary and Barbara. Walter, a World War II veteran, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1950. He died in 2001. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Bertha Bottle, and three siblings.
Doris is survived by daughters, Mary Bender and Barbara Palmer, grandchildren, Kristin Bender, Jacquie Weber(Dan), and Nick Palmer (Yelena). She also is survived by great grandchildren, Jessica Berkebile, Julia Weber, Andrew Weber, Sedona Palmer, Orion Palmer, Camden Palmer, and Coasta Palmer. Doris enjoyed her friends and neighbors in Chardon, her friends from book club and dulcimer players, and her friends at church and in the church choir. She loved music, played piano and dulcimer, and loved to sing. She loved the dogs and cats she had over the years, and she had a particular love of lemon donuts, which she often shared with her friend, Betty.
There will be a memorial service for Doris at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 10848 Chillicothe Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094, or the charity of your choice.
