Donald N. Strater, Age 87, of Lakewood, OH, died on Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born on January 22, 1931, in Goodwin, IN, to Moddise and Irene (Nee: Deitzen) Strater. Don received his BS and Master’s Degrees from Miami University, and was a science teacher for Parma City Schools (Normandy High School) for 33 years. He married Phyllis Robinson on September 9, 1954. His hobbies included fishing, golf, Kiwanis Club and his family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years; sons, Richard (Nancy Ann) of Columbus, OH, Stuart (Kris) of Cincinnati, OH, and Michael (Deborah) of Chardon, OH; 8 grandchildren, Bradford (Megan), Kyle (Sarah), Jennifer (Steven) Glaettli, Nicole, Alex (Kari), Jason (Hillary), Samuel, and Mitchell; 4 great grandchildren, Liam & James Strater, and Elliot & Emmett Glaettli.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Ascension, 13216 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, Ohio, on Monday, February 5, at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Contributions in his name are suggested to the Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd., Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125.
