DOLORES I. STRAY, age 83 of Chardon, died January 30, 2022, at Symphony at Mentor. Born June 19, 1938, in Painesville to Stephen M. and Theresa M. (nee: Bowman) Sziszak, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1956 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School and spent 40 years as a grocery store worker at Pick ‘n Pay, Finast and Tops. She enjoyed family, golf and playing Bunco with friends.
Dolores is survived by her son, William (Nancy) Stray of Mentor and daughter, Kim (James) Dietrick of Mentor; grandchildren, Kenneth (Suleika) Stray of Independence and Christy (Clive) Sonderman of Concord. She also leaves great grandchildren, William Stray and Charlie & Cassie Sonderman, and sister Dorothy Cook of Concord. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth W. Stray, whom she married October 18, 1958.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will then take place in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
