Dieter Werner Grimm, Age 87, of Chardon passed away peacefully on April 1, 2022. He was born March 20, 1935 to Erwin and Emma (nee: Scheufler) Grimm in Germany.
Dieter moved to America with his wife and son in 1967. He began his career at Citco as a tool diamond cutter until he retired. Dieter enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his three children; Ralph (Jackie Cackowski) Grimm of Chardon, OH, Tanja (David) Rust of Chagrin Falls, OH and Cindy (Bob) Perry of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren, Brighton (Sierra) Rust, Kyle (Sydney Baur) Grimm, Mark (Lucia) Rust, Michael (Paulina) Rust, Hunter Perry, Stephen Rust, and Rachel Perry; Great Grandchild, Lila Rust; Brother, Rolf Grimm. He also leaves many dear friends.
He is preceded by his loving wife, Ilse (nee: Friedauer) Grimm and parents.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, Ohio 44024. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. The interment will be held at the Chardon Municipal Cemetery. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed from https://boxcast.tv/view/dieter-grimm-vaygzzajfmwrrxpvxyh3 or go to the obituary on the Burr Funeral Home website.

Dear Dieter and Ilse Grimm family! Today, I sort of happened on Dieter's passing, and I am so sorry. God bless you, Tanja, Cindy, Ralph — and other family members and friends. I met Dieter and Ilse through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the late 1970s. I quickly learned to love them and cherished the countless peaceful and happy visits to their home. Ilse was an Angel, and Dieter was a special and dear friend. And I have continued to love them since returning to Utah in 2005. They blessed my life during my season in Ohio, and I was grateful to remain in contact from Utah. And Tanja and Cindy blessed my life and my children’s lives too. I know life and families are eternal and that we can enjoy associations with Dieter and Ilse again. God be with all who loved Dieter and will miss him to find comfort and peace now.

The dearest Egg Man there ever was. Many happy visits picking up eggs from Dieter and Ilse in earlier years, chatting in German and sharing stories, talking of Gardening tricks and travel. I am pretty sure I brought my Mum and another dear friend to visit from Downunder at some point too. Dieter also redeemed a few pairs of shoes that would have otherwise been lost to me. We shared a few lovely cups of tea and Dieter's Honey remembering Ilse after she passed away.
