Dean L. Peck age 87 of Claridon Twp. passed away Oct. 6, 2015 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born Oct. 9, 1927 in Rock Creek to William M. and Addie (nee: Smith) Peck, he had been a lifelong area resident. Dean married Betty Mayle on July 15, 1950 in Chardon. Dean served with the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed wood working, making clocks, farming and many fishing trips to Canada. He is survived by his wife Betty of Claridon Twp.; children Darlene (Moet) Arnett of Middlefield, Donna (Joseph) Berninger of Montville, Nancy (Rick) Jevnikar of Claridon Twp and Dean (Carolyn) Peck Jr of Huntsburg; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Iona Kronk of Claridon Twp. and Leona (Lloyd) Johnson of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Neil, Donald, Mildred Welch and Catherine Tagum. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, OH (500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square). A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Sunday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Claridon Center Cemetery (located behind the First Congregational Church of Claridon). Arrangements by the Burr Funeral Home of Chardon.
