Age 53, of Mentor, passed away on September 18, 2019. Dave was born on October 6, 1965 to Edward Lewanski and Rose Ann (nee: Miklavz) Cornish in Cleveland, OH. He loved baseball, gambling, his dogs: Jordan and Bailey, and above all, loved his family. Dave used to play in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and travel to see family in Florida.
Survivors include his mother, siblings: Sharon (Robert) Hanck, Suzanne Lewanski, Diane (Thomas) Dotson, Chad (Melissa) Lewanski and Greg (Anne) Lewanski; nieces: Amanda (Todd) Levstek, Chelsea Hanck, Chloe Lewanski and Payton Lewanski; nephew: Evan Lewanski and great-nephew and niece.

Dave is preceded in death by his father.

The family will accept friends on Tuesday, September 24 from 4-7 PM at the Burr Funeral Home in Chardon, OH. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 25 at St. Mary’s of Chardon followed by a burial at All Souls Cemetery.

I was shocked when I heard. You where a lot of fun when we where growing up. You where there when I needed you. I will always cherish the fun times we had. And the trouble we almost got into. I also want to offer condolences to the rest of the family. :(

Sending my deepest condolences during this very difficult time. Thoughts of our childhood times have been flooding me. Corn roasts on the farm, the cows, lot of rabbits, so many rabbits :) cats etc. All of you coming to our house to look for night crawlers with our flashlights in the dark. Just having fun and playing like kids do. I know you will always be deeply missed, my dear cousin. My heart is broken for the entire family, love to all of you.

So many memories. He was so tall and stunning to me when I was a 15 year old kid. I will never forget your antics, your laugh, and your kindness, Dave. You were a good man, and will be sorely missed.
