Daniel “Dan” R. Piwarski

June 26, 1964 - November 24, 2013

Daniel R. Piwarski age 49 of Montville died unexpectedly on November 24. Born June 26, 1964 in Warren to Alvin and Delores (nee: Becca), he had been a lifelong Chardon resident. Dan was the owner of Piwarski Building and Contracting and was known as a quality craftsman. He will be remembered as the most kind hearted man you could meet. Daniel enjoyed gambling and doing small projects. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family; but his greatest love was spending time with his dog Bellaroo; his daughter and granddaughter. Survivors include his daughter Lisa Piwarski of Willoughby; step-son Greg (Megan) Layhew of Mentor; granddaughter Olivia “Lilly” VanDriest of Willoughby; step-grandsons Landen and Luke Layhew; brothers Gary of Chardon and David of Arizona; sisters Kathy Jameson and Darlene (Mike) Konicek, both of Georgia; former wife Lori (JP) Lawson of Eastlake; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. FUNERALSVC: 11am Saturday Nov. 30, 2013 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery. VISITATION: 5-8pm on Friday Nov. 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Donations suggest to the family.

Daddyo, You were everything to me, I could talk to you about everything at any time about anything and you never judged me.. You were my rock You always told me to keep my head up and my mind set strong and I could do anything; that was always true. You helped me get through so much in my life., even when we disagreed. I loved you more than any words can ever express. You meant the world to me and Lilly, There will NEVER be a day that goes by that we won't think of you. It absolutely tears me apart that you are gone. I am COMPLETELY heart broken. I wish there was some way or some how I could have saved you, We were supposed to celebrate our 25th and 50th birthdays together. On top of so much more! Dad I will miss you immensely but i will try and be "tough as nails"!! Lilly and I will carry your memory on through us forever and always'.Till we meet again Daddyo please watch over us and I better have one bad ass house waiting for me in heaven for you gram and me! I am just beside my self I cant believe "Big Dan" is gone, before I knew Dave I knew Dan the countless times at the "Bev" too many fun times to think about, he was the most straight forward, and kind hearted person I have ever known. I was totally shocked when i found out Dave and Dan were brothers not only brothers but best friends, and always there for us both. I remember one xmas, when Dave was laid up with broken ribs, Dan came and hung our Christmas decorations outside, it was obvious, he hated every minute of it but did it with a smile because it was for his brother. He will be missed terribly. My deepest condolences to the entire family. I love you all and you are in my thoughts and prayers not only in this time of need, but always.... RIP Dan.

I' m so terribly sorry to hear about Dan's(Boonie) passing.....I remember growing up and being best friends with his sister Dar...(.was a long time ago.) Always being at their house....just a terrible loss..He was a sweetheart...and I know he will terribly missed by all who knew him .Prayers go out to all in the family and all friends . I didn't know Dan, but from the loving stories from Lisa, I know he was a good man and much loved by many. My heart goes out to Lisa and the whole family. I know he will be greatly missed.

Dan had a smile that could light up a room. He always had a kind word when you were down, and was always one of the first to offer to help a friend in need. He loved his girls, always the proud dad and grandpa. When Lily was born, he told me he never thought he could love as much as he loved his Lisa & Lily. He was so very happy that day, wild horses couldn't drag the smile off his face. RIP Big Dan, you will be missed by so many. My thoughts & prayers are with you Lisa & family, may God bless you & comfort you.
