CATHERINE “Kay” A. SCHNEIDER (nee: NEWMAN), Age 93, of Chardon Twp, died April 4, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 28,1926 in Cleveland to the late Steve and Nellie (Ambrose) Newman, she has been a Chardon resident since 1975. Kay enjoyed sewing and working outdoors. She loved to garden and was a fan of jokes. She was an active member of the Chapel of the Devine Word, having received the Madonna Award. She was a Banker for many years, and upon adopting two children, she left the banking world to become a stay at home mom. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol O’Brien of Chardon, grandchildren Katie (Seth Jewlett) Schneider of FL and Michael O’Brien of Chardon, daughters in law Jeanne Ann Talarico of Novelty and Brenda Schneider of Willoughby, and son in law Kevin O’Brien of Chardon. Kay also leaves her nephew, Thomas (Karen) Neuman of Seven Hills and niece Judy Cox in Southern Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford; son, Paul Schneider and brother, Albert Neuman.

Due to the COVID-19 recommendations, private family burial will be held at All Souls Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Chapel of the Divine Word, Kirtland.
