Betty Hernandez (nee: Lane) age 73, of Chardon Twp. died September 1, 2012 at Heather Hill Health Care Center in Chardon. Born Oct. 3, 1938 in Virginia to Rev. Joe and Rosetta (nee: Rose) Lane she has lived in Chardon Twp since 1970, prior in Cleveland. She worked in payroll retiring from Gould Ocean Systems. Betty Lane married Rudy Hernandez in Cleveland on Feb 2, 1968. Betty enjoyed oil painting of scenery and also taught junior church at the Chardon Assembly of God. She enjoyed reading inspirational books. Betty was kind spirited and had a great sense of humor. Her greatest love was spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her husband Rudy Hernandez of Chardon Twp.; daughter Sherry (Chris) Turk of Fairport Harbor; sisters Rosemary Wood of Chardon and Joyce (Bobby) Mathews of Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren Angela Hernandez of Painesville and Carmela Barcellona of Cleveland; great-grandchildren Gloria, Jasmine, Nyla and Miguel; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
