Barbara Lois Luther, age 86, of Chardon, died on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at her home. She was born on April 1, 1934, in Chardon, OH, to Harlan and Cecilia (Nee: Avins) Cooley. Barbara was a 1952 Graduate of Chardon High School and received her Master’s in Library Science from Kent State University. On April 7, 1952, she married Milton Henry Luther. She had been a librarian for the Geauga County Public Library for over 30 years and was a member of Urania Chapter #284 Order of Eastern Star. (Formerly Ruby Chapter #4 in Chardon)
Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (Gary) Mymo of Niles, Cynthia Luther of Fernley, NV and Heidi (Norman) Gertz of Hambden; sons Konrad of Chardon and Byron of Chardon; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Karen (\Tim) Kloiber of Kansas City, Jennifer (Ken) Artim of Mentor, and Renee (Larry) Weeks of Mentor; and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter Venice Phillips; son Milton H. Luther II; and brother Rex Cooley.
Private Family Services were held. Interment is in Chardon Municipal Cemetery. The Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH.
