ANNA REGINA RILEY (nee: BARTH), Age 66 of Chardon died December 21, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born December 27, 1951 in E. Cleveland, to Walter E. and Alys H. (nee: O’Neal) Barth, she moved to Chester Twp. in 1958. Ann was a 1970 graduate of West Geauga High School, very active throughout her school years. She was a Worthy Advisor with Rainbow Girls, a Majorette and served on Student Council. Through the years, she became highly involved with the American Cancer Society, working on the Charisma Ball, Nearly New Sales, Golf Outings and various fund raisers in Geauga County. Ann was very dedicated to her children’s activities, coaching basketball and instructing cheerleading. She was a host mother to four exchange students thru AFS. First and foremost, she was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and wife. Ann was well known throughout the banking community for many years in Chardon, including Chardon Savings, Bank One, Security Federal and retired after many years with First Merit Bank.
Survivors include her husband William Clay Riley, children Danielle (Kevin) Jewell of Chesterland, Monica (William) Miller of Valley City, Derek (Linda Promenschenkel) Lang of Columbus and Jeffrey J. Riley of Olmsted Falls, grandchildren Lauren (Drew) Humphrey, Courtney (Calvin) Lirette, Blaine, Owen, Renee, Elijah and Eden Tollon, Andrew and Brendan Miller, Great grandchild Addison Lirette, step grandchildren Megan and Maciah. She also leaves her sister Judy (Alan) Keener of Chardon. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Walter E. “Wally” Barth, Jr. and James N. Barth.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM, followed by the burial at Chester Township Cemetery.
