Marc H. Burr - Owner
Marc was a 1969 graduate of Chardon High School, 1973 graduate of Mount Union College and 1974 graduate of Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science. Active in his profession and community affairs, Marc is a member of Pilgrim Christian Church on the square in Chardon and attends St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on South Bass Island; is a member of Village Lodge F&AM #274 in Burton; Chardon Eagles; Chardon VFW Post #6519 and is on the board of directors at Care Corp in Chardon. Marc married his wife Nan in 1975 and they have two sons, Marc F. and Andrew John.
Nan F. Burr - Funeral Director
Nan began her funeral service career in 1975 after graduating from Mount Union College. She is Past President and Member of Geauga County Panhellenic Association, Past President and member of Burton-Middlefield Rotary, and Former Director and member of the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce. She and Marc currently reside in Chardon.
Marc F. “Burrly” Burr - Funeral Director/Embalmer
A sixth generation funeral director, Marc joined the family business as a licensed funeral director in 2005. Marc is a 1999 graduate of Chardon High School, a 2003 graduate of Allegheny College and a 2005 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Following the completion of the National and State Funeral Director’s and Embalmer’s Exams, he became the sixth generation of Burr’s to be involved in the family business. During his time in mortuary school, Marc excelled in embalming, restorative art and cosmetology earning the Dodge Award of Excellence. From Sept. 4 through Nov. 10, 2005 Marc worked as a body recovery team leader with Kenyon International Worldwide Disaster Management in New Orleans. In 2007 he became a CANA Certified Crematory Operator. As of August 7, 2012, Marc is licenced in CPR and AED use. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association, American Embalmers Society, Tri-County Funeral Directors Association (Vice President), Village Lodge #274 F & AM, Burton-Middlefield Rotary(President 2015-2016), VFW Post #6519 Men’s Auxillary, Fraternal Order of Eagles-Geauga Aire #2261, various antique automobile car clubs and is a winemaker with Felice Tizio Morto Vineyards at Chardon BrewWorks. He and his wife, Ashley, live in Chardon. Marc and wife Ashley welcomed their son, Warner Patrick Burr into the world on January 27, 2014 and their second son Franklin Joseph Burr on February 27, 2016.
Brian C. Johnston - Funeral Director
Brian is a retired law enforcement officer who has been a licensed funeral director for over 20 years, having served his apprenticeship at the Burr Funeral Home. He is a graduate of Lake Erie College. Brian has served his community as a member of the Burton Village Council and as a Geauga Park District Commissioner. He is a Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Chardon, as well as a parishioner at St. Helen’s Church in Newbury.
David Fisher - Associate
David graduated from Cleveland Institute of Music, Cuyahoga Community College and Kent State University. An active musician, David and his wife, Linda, reside in Chardon.
Vicki Drugatz - Office Manager
Kenneth R. Temple - Associate
Ken has been a longtime Geauga County resident working for the US Postal Service and then Rapid Cleaners with his sister before starting KT Custom Logos. He has been longtime part of the Burr Funeral Home staff starting the 1960’s and has worked with 4 generations of the Burr Family. In 2012 Ken became a CANA Certified Crematory Operator.
Sandra Gerzeny - Office Associate
After her retirement from the Geauga County Health Department, Sandy started part time with the Burr Funeral Home. She specializes in insurance assignments and billing. She is available to answer any question you might have.
