Wilma M. Divoky, age 91 of Chardon passed away April 7, 2017 at Medina Care Center of Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina. Born April 4, 1926 in Chicago, IL to George and Mary (nee: Hollesh) Malinzak; she had been a longtime area resident. Wilma Malinzak married Joseph Divoky on Nov. 26, 1949 in Euclid; he preceded her in death on March 31, 2012. Wilma worked and retired from the US Post Office in Chardon for over 20 years. After her retirement, Wilma worked for Regina Travel in Chardon. She was a longtime member of the Church of St. Mary in Chardon; being especially active in the bereavement ministry and St. Mary’s Church and School functions. Wilma enjoyed and was an accomplished seamstress, knitter and crocheter. Along with her husband, she enjoyed traveling the world and dancing to their favorite polkas. Her rhododendrons were known throughout the area for their size and beauty. She was a loving mother to Rosemary (John) Spiker of Brunswick, James (Jan) of Ravenna, Joan (Mike) Moran of Avon, Carol Ann (Roger) Koch of Oxford, OH and Marianne (Paul) Kaiser of Stoneham, CO; grandmother of 17; great-grandmother of 16; sister to Bob (Judith) Malinzak of Cincinnati, Doris (Gene) Delserone of Pittsburgh, Roger (Delores) Malinzak of Ravenna, Edward (Cheryl) Malinzak of Grand Rapids, MI, Thomas (Mitzi) Malinzak of Winston-Salem, NC and Betsy Wolf of Pittsburgh and sister-in-law Marianne Malindzak of Raleigh, NC; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph; brother George Malindzak and brother-in-law Rick Wolf. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH and from 9 to 10am on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, OH with burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. Donations suggested to the Bereavement Ministry at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, OH 44024.
