William Robert Rice, Age 70, of Chester Twp., died on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Hillcrest Hospital. Bill was born on February 26, 1947, in Mayfield Hts., OH, to William E. and Marion L. (Nee: Batchlet) Rice, and graduated from Mayfield High School, Class of 1965. He owned Classic Restorations in Chesterland. Bill was an avid collector of cars and antique furniture and lamps. He was a former member of the NEO Corvette Club, and enjoyed taking the neighborhood children to “Trick or Treat” in his old hearse.
Survivors include his daughter, Krystal Rice (Sean Kavick) of Chester Twp., OH, and son, Wm. Glenn Rice (Johnnathyn Saeteurn) of Maui, Hawaii; former wife, Jane Rice-Chambers of Huntsburg Twp., OH.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 6-8PM, with the Funeral Service at 8:00 p.m., at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. Chardon, OH. Interment is Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the Whitehaven Memorial Park, 615 SOM-Center Rd., Mayfield, OH. Information and condolences online at www.burrservice.com.

The world lost a great talent in auto customizing, Billy was truly an artist. I will always remember his sense of humor and laugh.

Krystal and Glenn, I am so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I just remember how much he enjoyed being with you two at the pool.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. We lived next door or acroos the driveway. I was 3 years younger than him but always enjoyed walking over and talking hot rods with him. I remember your grand parents too. I got married in 1973 and moved to Chardon my mom and dad sold the house and moved to New Hampshire in 1983. I haven't seen your dad for many years but he was always a very speacial and very talented man. Prayers to your family. RIP William

Glenn & Krystal, your Father was a delight to be around. Remember all the childhood memories he made sure you both had. The Halloween Hearse Trick or Treating rides were always a great time! Remember he is always with you in spirit even though he's not with you in person.

Sorry for you loss Glenn and Krystal, your dad will be missed by all. He was always a joy to be around.

Billy Rice, what a great guy. Halloween in the hearse followed by his cop car was always a blast. Whenever I think of this man I always smile. Rest in peace Bill, you will always be with us.

I'm Sure he is driving through the clouds in his classic cars. Heidi and I send our love to you. He seemed like a wonderful man.

Although I was only acquainted with Bill for a short time, it's an honor to have known him. He will be missed.
